From the age of 7, Kya enjoyed classes in ballet and tap, where her teacher said one day her name would be up in lights! Dancing and Musical Theatre was always Kya's passion. In 1993 she moved to London and attended the Anna Scher Theatre School and the Kensington & Chelsea College, where she gained a Distinction in Performing Arts. 

In 2015 Kya decided to make the move over to the USA for further training to study with Margie Haber in LA. Her first TV appearance as a featured performer was in Channel 4's Comedy Lab "Best of British" and then BBC's Dead Ringers with Jon Culshaw. In 2009 Kya saw an opening for the West End to play a "Townsfolk" in the production of JW Priestley's An Inspector Calls directed by Stephen Daldry at the Novello and Wyndhams Theatre. Other credits include Paddington 2, 24: LAD

During more than a decade as an actress, Kya Garwood has had parts in films like Paddington 2 and Mamma Mia Here We Go Again, as well as being a stand-in and double for leading ladies like Meryl Streep, Michelle Pfeiffer and Lily James.

Mackenzie Littledale’s writing career started in September 2017 when she began writing her semi-autobiographical manuscript This Darkness is Mine. Her work began appearing publicly in 2019 with an article in Conscious Life Journal, the VSS365 Anthology, the Bipolar Battle blog, Reedsy’s blog, and TYWI Black Lives Matter journal.

She’s been interviewed on the AskWin Podcast, Diffusing the Tension blog, Wendi Blum Weiss, and Gestalt Media. Her short stories Freedom 500 and It was an Accident won Gestalt Media’s monthly contests. She is a class of 2019 PitchWars mentee. Her essay Lessons in Personality Integration from the Movies The Wizard of Oz and The Wiz placed second in the International Oz Group’s 2019 writing contest in nonfiction.

Second Chance at Heaven earned an honorable mention in the Texas Observer 2020 Short Story Contest. Her first collection of short stories, Testing the Ties That Bind, launched January 1, 2021. The Curious Key Carelessly Left Behind is included in Skullgate’s Loathsome Voyages anthology, releasing January 7, 2021. This Darkness is Mine will be her first novel.
