PRESS RELEASE - Alaina's (NOT REALLY A DIARY) Diary!

PRESS RELEASE

Author David P Perlmutter, has a new book out, and in a complete departure from his gritty bestselling true stories, this is a children's book, all about primary school children's memories of growing up in Harrow.

World-renowned, primarily for his international best seller  Wrong Place Wrong Time, currently in production to become a movie, David has also recently published his first fiction book, Write To Kill, which readers are calling a FANTASTIC story. UNIQUE. SHARP. DEADLY .

The children’s book was the brainchild of the team at St George’s Shopping Centre in Harrow who wanted to create a community project whilst simultaneously raising money for charity. Recognising the importance of literacy in the borough they teamed up with childhood literacy charity Coram Beanstalk. David conducted a number of workshops with children from Roxeth, Roxbourne and St George’s Primary Schools in Harrow, the result of which was around 180 stories by the children of their memories of growing up in Harrow.

The stories inspired the fictional work, Alaina's (NOT REALLY A DIARY) Diary, with 70% of the profits from the sale of this book going to Coram Beanstalk to fund literary support for primary school children in the London Borough of Harrow.

"Alaina is just like lots of nearly-9-year-olds, excited for her upcoming birthday and a party with all her friends. BUT there is one girl who is NOT invited. In her diary Alaina records her everyday experiences with her many friends in the lead up to her party.

With tales of tomatoes, teachers and Taekwondo, stories of swimming, shopping and slime, anecdotes about animals, Ariana Grande and Alisha, Alaina's diary gives us a vivid insight into the world of school children growing up in Harrow, Greater London.”

The book was co-authored and edited by Julie Tucker, and illustrated by Julie’s daughter, JCoSS student Abi Tucker (aged 16).

The kindle version of the book is available Amazon priced at £6, link is below, but you can get a signed hardback version for the same price by contacting David directly at  david@davidpperlmutter.com . For all David's books, visit  www.davidpperlmutter.com
