12 months pass and body parts begin to appear again. The press lap it up, but New Scotland Yard aren’t about to fail in the same tragic way this time, quickly appointing the hard hitting DI Adam Jaeger from Manchester to reopen the case. To some he’s a great role model but others are skeptical as Adam’s methods upset the department from day 1. He soon wins their respect with his speedy progress through the case files, finding new leads instantly, yet a suspicious few still nip at his ego.
DS Susan Stone is appointed as his partner, much to Adam's disapproval. Susan finds him obtuse, distant and misdirecting, snubbing her theories and creating an anti-trust between them. Taking her own leads, She begins to connect dots other than the case inhand, revealing her own motives as well as Adam’s strange movements and his shadowy interest in a wealthy businessman that she believes is connected to the case.
