Stronger Together: How We’re Living While Fighting by Anne Nolan and Linda Nolan

 Stronger Together:

How We’re Living While Fighting

by Anne Nolan and Linda Nolan

"It's okay to be scared, to feel lonely... we'll get through it, because we have to.''

For more than 40 years Linda and Anne have performed side by side on stage as members of iconic Irish girl group The Nolans. But in 2020 the sisters sat next to each other for a very different experience. Soon after returning home from filming their hit TV series The Nolans Go Cruising, with their sisters Coleen and Maureen, Linda and Anne received devastating cancer diagnoses within days of each other and soon began gruelling rounds of chemotherapy together. It was a stark reminder of how cruel life can be, and, of course, of their beloved sister Bernie, who also faced and lost the same battle.

Stronger Together is Linda and Anne's story. A reflection on their close-knit relationship, in the limelight and behind the scenes, and of how family helped them hold it all together when things got tough. Deeply personal, incredibly moving and told with trademark humour, it's a story they hope will help you too.

About the Authors

Anne Nolan was born in Dublin in 1950, the eldest of eight children. The family moved from Dublin to Blackpool the early 1960s shortly after which they started to tour as The Singing Nolans. Later The Nolan Sisters went on to achieve massive chart success with hits like 'I'm In The Mood For Dancing' which became a hit all over the world. Anne does a lot of work for the Alzheimer's Society after her mum passed away with the illness. In 2009 she released her autobiography Anne's Song and in 2011 she released her debut solo album Just One Voice.

Linda Nolan was born in 1959, the third youngest of eight children. She enjoyed great success as part of the Nolan Sisters, touring with the likes of Frank Sinatra and Engelbert Humperdinck. Linda went on to perform in cabarets and stage musicals including Our House the Musical and Menopause The Musical, as well as appearing on Celebrity Big Brother. In 2018 she released her autobiography From My Heart

WOOL - SHIFT - DUST

WOOL is the story of mankind clawing for survival, of mankind on the edge. The world outside has grown unkind, the view of it limited, talk of it forbidden.

But there are always those who hope, who dream. These are the dangerous people, the people who infect others with their optimism.

Their punishment is simple.

They are given the very thing they profess to want:

They are allowed outside.

WOOL has captivated readers across the globe since its first release and has become one of the most talked about and best reviewed books of this year.

It has drawn comparisons to the likes of The RoadThe Passage and The Hunger Games, with Ridley Scott acquiring film rights earlier this year.

Enter this unique world and experience the phenomenon.

Susan George and My Things & Other..........

In challenging times of late, raising funds for charities has become an almost impossible ask but it doesn’t mean the small enterprises Lasting Life support, need us less, in fact quite the opposite.

“My Things and Others” is a new idea that already seems to have captured the imagination of many and our opening weeks exceeded expectation! We have a myriad of exciting items on sale from clothes to signed celebrity prints, artefacts, horse photographs and collectables.

It’s a first-time venture and I’ve asked friends to join me in donating personal items, and the response has been truly amazing, an element of surprise in gifts we’ve received and stories that go with them. It’s very much a shared website so please help us to help those living with the cruel disease of cancer in a time of need. Together we can make all the difference.
Susie ❤️

I have to admit at no time in my life had I considered going into retail, but My Things and Others is special and for such a special cause that will enable us to bring a smile on a grey day to someone who needs.

It’s been hard work in organising but fun too, especially going to the mailbox each day to find gifts and surprises that aren’t all from Amazon but friends who have been extraordinary in their support. It only took a phone call or letter and the response from everyone “what can I do to help?”

So please continue to spread the word amongst your friends and if you feel you have something to add to our collection, contact us about sending! Perhaps something you may have mistakenly bought or would just love to give us and perhaps write a line or two about?

We’ve already a shop at home that because of my extensive wardrobe and travel over the years, is practically full and of course I have many special things from my late husband Simon, that now and only now seems the right time and right reason to part with.

In the next few weeks we will be  adding a “special items for auction” page for some extremely unique collectables, so be sure to check in with us to see..

Our hope that this website will be the gift needed to help us help others in a time of need and from me and my trustees at Lasting Life huge thanks and enjoy…….

The Diary of a Lockdown Mum by Paula Love Clark and Illustrated by Gemma Pepper

The Diary of a Lockdown Mum

by Paula Love Clark

and Illustrated

by Gemma Pepper

Ben and I had breakfast and set ourselves up for ‘school.’ But then came multiplication of fractions. Arrghhhh!!! I HATE flipping fractions! Grrrrr. I mean, in my forty-seven years on earth, I have never had to know what 1 and 3/4 x 3 equals. Ben said he used to be good at math's and now it’s his worse subject. I feel awful! It’s because I just can’t do math's

His English has improved no end though and it was his worse subject before this lockdown! That’s what comes of having a published author mum at home with him. Shame for him that my books weren’t in math's!

Penelope Wood is a single mum of three surviving life in three lockdowns. Technophobe, D.I.Y.-o-phobe and math-o-phobe, with a penchant for M&S assorted toffees, Penny relates her day-to-day life to her new best friend: her diary.

The Diary of a Lockdown Mum, is an hilarious, often poignant and sometimes thought provoking look at life in lockdown from the perspective of an often stressed and always overthinking, single mum.
